Chapter II/2-1

After arriving at St. Freya High, located in Far East, Bronya is admitted to a health center and Selene undergoes an inspection. Energy from its power drives are blamed for Bronya's chip going out of control. As the repairs on the ship start, the St. Freya students prepare for the yearly Valkyrie Exam.

Some time afterwards, Rita contacts Theresa - the school's principal. Otto, the Schicksal Overseer, has received the Schicksal's Far East Branch's report on the Selene and wants Rita, his agent, to verify some details in-person and to attend this year's exams. After the short yet somewhat stressful talk, Theresa decides to beat some practice enemies using Judah, a cross-shaped Divine Key.

Two days before the exam, Theresa finds Kiana who's reminded of the exams. As one of the worst-performing students, Kiana's meant to receive help from her teacher Himeko. Hoping to motivate her niece a bit, Theresa reminds her of their promise - once Kiana becomes an A-Rank Valkyrie, Theresa will share the whereabouts of Kiana's father, who seems to have been missing for a while. Himeko however delegated the task of teaching Kiana to Fu Hua, the class monitor, whom Kiana's not fond of due to her strictness. After completing a combat simulation Kiana receives the lowest rating possible from Fu Hua who points out Kiana's no-thought/brute-force ways but guarantees to help her improve.
