Chapter XXXVII, titled Of Salt, Snow, and Sand, is a Story pertaining to the mainline narrative, specifically Part 1.5.

It is the first story chapter that is separated into 2 different maps that can be freely switched between, called Salt Snow Holy City and Country of Iron Sand, with each map having its own set of stages.

Inscribed Whispers[]

Inscribed Whispers menu is unlocked upon clearing stage 37-1, with said stage acting as an introduction to the system.

Inscribed Whispers can be obtained as reward from either first time clearing in stage 37-1 or ones of Elder Enigma, or any Net of Whispers. The latter is the main source for getting Whispers' inscriptions, and completing it also cost 1 Mix-Colored Rune , which will be replenished daily with 2.

Inscribed Whispers possess inscriptions of different colors: Green, Blue, Purple, Orange, and Red; with the colors corresponding to their rarity and the Whisper's skill potency. Apart from the generic inscriptions that either increase Whispers' DMG or support the team, each Whisper also has their own 2 exclusive ones in Orange and Red rarity, which will boost their potential to the next level. Clearing Net of Whispers in higher difficulty will have higher chance to obtain higher quality inscriptions.

Casting skills increases the team's Total DMG by 10%15%/25%/35%.
Casting skills increases the DMG taken by enemies by 6%/10%/15%/20%.
Casting skills increases the team's Elemental DMG by 15%/27%/35%/43%.
Casting skills increases the team's SP by 20/30/40/50.
Increases Inscribed Whisper skills' DMG by 4%/8%/12%/16%.
Casting skills increases the team's Physical DMG by 12%/20%/30%/40%.
Exclusive Inscriptions
Inscribed Whispers Rarity (Orange) Rarity (Red)
Light For every 1% of enemy HP remaining, Inscribed Whisper skill deals 3% more DMG. Inscribed Whisper: Light will strike 3 times in a row.
Ice When an enemy recovers from frozen, deal an additional 20% DMG around it. When an enemy's HP is below 20%, freezing it will instantly kill it.
Dark Increases bonus DMG from Denudation-caused explosion by 20%. After using the skill, Soul Link all enemies. Soul-Linked enemies pass 20% of DMG they take on to other Soul-Linked enemies.
Thunder After Inscribed Whisper skill ends, strike all enemies with extra small lightning. Every 10 strikes cause a small lightning explosion that hurts nearby enemies.
Gravity After using the skill, triggers Time Fracture and deals DMG. Deals a large amount of DMG after the gravity effect ends.
Time After using the skill, triggers Time Storm and deals DMG every second. After using the skill, leaves a bomb at your feet. It explodes seconds later, damaging and pulling enemies in its radius.

- When releasing a Light Chaser skill, it accrues more Trauma in Denudation state.
- When releasing a Shadow Drinker skill, the explosion caused by its Denudation state deals more explosion damage.
- After releasing a Shadow Drinker skill, deal Fire, Ice, and Lightning DMG as a bonus.
- Chaos Light Chaser skill will inflict fast HP loss on enemies.

There are two types of Inscribed Whispers: Light Chaser (Light, Ice, Lightning) and Shadow Drinker (Dark, Gravity, Time), with all Shadow Drinker Whispers can also inflict Denudation[1] on enemies. Equipping Inscribed Whispers of the same types will activate Resonance Effect, which reduces their CD to 15s, while equipping them of different types will further reduce CD by 5s.
