Missions are objectives that Captains can clear daily, throughout the story, and during events to gain various benefits such as Stamina,
EXP,
Coins, items, etc.
They are split into two different types: [Combat Missions] and [BP Missions].
Combat Missions[]
Combat Missions are an integral part of the daily routine in Honkai Impact 3rd. Many of the missions reward substantial amounts of EXP for doing normal in-game activities.
Most missions also grant BP, which is used to level up any currently-running Battle Pass.

BP Missions[]
BP Missions reward a substantial amount of BP for completing version-specific tasks. Examples include obtaining the newly released battlesuit and her signature weapon, finishing the last mission of a new Story chapter, and obtaining a specific amount of event currency.
These missions are not unique to the [Missions] menu and can be viewed in the Events menu as well.
Legacy[]
- [Mei's Snacks] daily mission was previously separated into [Mei's Lunch] and [Mei's Dinner], which would be automatically completed upon logging in at 11:00 and 18:00 respectively; both rewarding
Stamina ×30 and
BP ×25 each.
- As more Open World maps were added, the OW-specific missions were adjusted to be more general.
- Schicksal HQ, which was added in Version 2.6 removed the need to complete specific [Adventure Tasks] in Sakura Samsara like [Exorcism], making it possible to complete the weekly mission by taking on any task in either OW.
- With the release of A Post-Honkai Odyssey in Version 3.8, OW missions no longer mention the map on which [Adventure Tasks] have to be completed in.
- Many missions are no longer available, often due to related mechanics being removed from the game.
- Before the removal of [Normal], [Hard], and [Supreme] difficulties for Story stages, there existed a [Story] section which was by far the biggest source of
EXP. As the name implies, missions required the completion of a specific stage on a specific difficulty.
- The [Story] missions also included missions to unlock higher [Affection] levels, as more points could not be gained otherwise.
- A separate tab called [Challenges] could be accessed through the upper right corner of the [Story] menu. These challenges acted as hands-on tutorials and, too, gave rewards for first clears.
- As Dorm became an afterthought, the mission [Dorm Life], which required interacting with a character in the dorms, was removed.
- Version 3.1 replaced Infinity Abyss with Dirac Sea, removing all missions associated with the former.
- Up until sometime in 2021, there existed a rotating set of [Bounty Missions]. These missions included having to clear a number of stages with a specific character (Kiana, Himeko, etc.) and killing specific type of enemy (mech, zombie, etc.) a number of times.
- Until Version 5.6,
Duty was the main currency by which accumulated rewards were tracked instead of
BP.
- Up until an unknown earlier update, the total sum of
Duty gained in a week would be referred to as [Weekly Activeness] and offered additional rewards on top of the usual daily rewards.
- [Weekly Activeness] had its own unique icon:
.
- Captains needed to collect 200, 500, 750, and 1000
Duty in a week to get items. Last recorded rewards included
Mithril ×300,
Time Structure ×8,
Crystals ×50, and
Asterite ×900.
- [Weekly Activeness] had its own unique icon:
- Up until an unknown earlier update, the total sum of
- Also in v5.6, Dirac Sea was removed alongside the [Gazing at the Abyss] missions, which required Captains to clear abyss floors.
- Version 5.8 saw the removal of all EXP Chips. Prior to their removal, [Growth Bonus: Ai-chan's Help] mission would reward Captains whose level was 80 or lower
50% Beginner Captain EXP Chip S ×1 for logging in.
- The same version increased the amount of
EXP rewarded by missions. Although it wasn't the first time the EXP rewards were buffed, the change was significant enough to make it to the patch notes.
- The same version increased the amount of
- In Version 7.3 co-op and all missions related to it were removed.
- Before the removal of [Normal], [Hard], and [Supreme] difficulties for Story stages, there existed a [Story] section which was by far the biggest source of
- Missions related to events would sometimes reward items other than
BP, with some of them having easier requirements. For example, logging in during Hyperion Summer Festival would reward Captains with
Silver Summer Holiday Voucher ×1; doing event stages would reward
Silver Summer Holiday Voucher if done solo and
Gold Summer Holiday Voucher if done in co-op.
- These types of missions were since moved to the Events menu, where each event has its own set of missions.
