Himeko from the Previous Era was a Captain of MOTH's Squad 5 and Hua's mentor. She was the human vessel of the 7th Herrscher, the Herrscher of Fire.
Appearance[]
Himeko had long red hair and ember-colored eyes. She wears a long dark grey dress with black shoes.[2] After turning into the 7th Herrscher, her eyes became a glowing white, obscuring their actual color and features.[3]
Personality[]
Himeko was a serious yet caring leader. Although she did not have time for "crybabies," she also believed that wars could not be won with low morale. As such, Himeko valued having fun and relaxing to forget the pain of war for a moment of happiness.[2] As a mentor, Himeko had great faith in her subordinates. She even believed that Hua had no less potential than[4] the top-ranked MOTH soldiers[5] Kevin and Elysia and was worthy of leaving Squad 5 to fight alongside them.[4]
History[]
Before joining the MOTHs Himeko was a survivor of a Honkai disaster in the Previous Era, after which she was given the choice of learning the truth of what happened or trying to move on with her life. She chose the truth and became a MOTH soldier, ultimately rising to the rank of Captain of Squad 5. She saved Hua's life during the 3rd Honkai Eruption that destroyed the city of Sapphire and most of East Asia, killing almost all its residents. Himeko had the responsibility of caring for Hua after the incident and ensuring she was sound of mind before discharging her to be relocated. Although Himeko cautioned her that there was no turning back if she learned the truth of what happened, Hua was determined to have the answers, leading her to join the MOTHs herself.[2] Himeko became a mentor to Hua, who was now her subordinate in Squad 5. She taught her how to fight and survive and gave her a new chance at life after losing everything.[6]
After surviving the conflicts with several Herrschers, including the 6th Herrscher,[2] Himeko became the 7th Herrscher herself[6] in Sydney,[7] Australia. According to Hua, the change was abrupt and unexpected, with Himeko greeting her with her usual smile in one moment and turning on the members of Squad 5 in the next. The 7th Herrscher killed almost all the soldiers in the Squad except for Hua, who only survived because she was not wounded as severely as the others. After annihilating her Squad, the 7th Herrscher turned her powers on[6] the Sydney Super Dome, where the superstar singer Eden was performing. The fires engulfed the entire venue and almost all present died in the conflagration. Eden was one of the few survivors,[7] rescued by Hua. After rescuing Eden, Hua left to search for Himeko and learn if the 7th Herrscher had truly taken over or if her Captain was still there in Himeko's body and there was still a chance to save her.[6]
Before Hua had the chance, however, the 7th Herrscher was slain by Kevin on Dr. MEI's orders.[2] With his permanently sub-zero body temperature that was a result of the MANTIS operation, Kevin was able to quench the Herrscher's flames with ice.[6] After Himeko's death, Hua harbored resentment towards MEI, because Himeko had still recognized her and spoke with her human voice. She believed that the decision to end her life should have fallen to her, as Himeko's only surviving subordinate.[2]

- Judgment of Shamash was made from her Herrscher core.
- Around Version 5.7, in the newly added story, her name was incorrectly localized as Himiko, which would be right translation for the Chinese Hanzi yet inconsistent with the previous localization choice - Himeko. The error was fixed in later versions at an unknown point of time, although it still persists in the Thai ver.
