Selene was a former MOTH battleship equipped with Selene device and later were reconstructed by Anti-Entropy in the new era and becomes an Amphibious Assault Battleship.[citation needed]
Previous Era[]
The Selene device is a black-tech converter capable of converting Honkai energy into real energy. It can continuously absorb large-scale Honkai energy and convert it into the energy that humans can be used by conventional means. Conventional energy here means such as electric energy and light energy, therefore, if this kind of equipment can be used on a large scale, not only can it alleviate the energy crisis, the most important thing is that in theory, the Selene can completely wipe out the Honkai existence from the earth.
In addition to transforming Honkai energy, the Selene device can also be used as a weapon. The destruction energy of the target hit by the beam of the Selene will be forced to be converted into other energy, so as to achieve the effect of killing the target. In the last decisive battle against the Final Herrscher, the Selene fired at the Herrscher of Finality, but this only reduced her Honkai energy by 2%. Current Era[]
In the current generation of civilization, Schicksal's North Amerian Branch began to study this Selene by studying the formula for the transformation of Honkai energy from the previous generation transcribed on the "Dead Sea Instruments". In fact, the name "Selene" comes from the mouth of Edison and was praised by her as "the greatest civil invention ever".[citation needed]
However, during the test of the prototype, the formula on the "Dead Sea Instruments" was tampered with by Bishop Otto, and the test unfortunately failed. Later, a portable prototype Selene device was equipped on Arahato, playing a vital part in the Second Honkai War.[2]
In 2016, the battleship was sent out to crash into Sapphire[3] before being captured by Valkyries of St. Freya High. The ship itself did not contain any difficult passwords to crack and was easy to access. It contained a mail addressed specifically to Kiana.[4]
"Dear Kiana! Greetings. We hereby return you the battleship Selene after 1414[note 1] years. You shall ascend the throne and rule this world. But before that, you'll need to find 4 keys. Lightning of Conquest, Fire of Affliction, Storm of Desire, and Death of Tranquility. PS. The password to the bridge is your birthday."
The ship's unique and powerful engine is blamed for Bronya's bio-chip going out of control[5] and for causing Kiana to onboard it while sleepwalking[6], even though both cases involved mind control. The battleship undergoes repairs at St. Freya all the same.
